FAQs
HOW OFTEN SHOULD A DRYER VENT BE CLEANED?
1
Most homes should have their dryer vent professionally cleaned at least once per year. Here are some signs you may need an annual cleaning:
You have a large household
You run multiple loads per week
You have pets (pet hair increases lint buildup)
Your dryer takes longer than normal to dry clothes
You notice excessive heat or a burning smell
Over time, lint accumulation restricts airflow, reduces efficiency, and significantly increases fire risk. Annual professional maintenance helps keep your system operating safely and efficiently.
If you’re unsure, a professional inspection can determine the proper cleaning schedule for your home.
WHAT ARE SIGNS MY DRYER VENT IS CLOGGED?
2
A clogged dryer vent often shows warning signs before it becomes a serious safety issue. If you notice any of the following, your vent system may be restricted:
Clothes take longer than normal to dry
The dryer feels unusually hot to the touch
A burning smell during operation
Excess lint collecting around the dryer
The laundry room feels humid after a cycle
The exterior vent flap doesn’t open properly
You haven’t had the vent cleaned in over a year
When airflow is restricted, heat and moisture become trapped inside the system. This not only reduces efficiency but significantly increases fire risk.
If you’re experiencing any of these signs, a professional inspection and cleaning can restore proper airflow and help protect your home.
HOW LONG DOES THE SERVICE TAKE?
3
Most dryer vent cleaning services take approximately 20–40 minutes, depending on the length of the vent system, accessibility, and overall condition.
Shorter, straightforward vent runs may be completed more quickly, while longer or heavily restricted systems may require additional time to ensure a thorough cleaning.
We focus on doing the job correctly not rushing through it. Our goal is to fully restore airflow and ensure your system is operating safely before we leave.
If repairs or upgrades are needed, we will clearly explain your options and provide pricing before any additional work begins.
DO I NEED TO BE HOME DURING THE SERVICE?
4
Yes someone 18 or older should be present during the service.
We need access to the dryer unit inside the home as well as the exterior vent termination to complete the cleaning and inspection properly.
The appointment is typically brief (about 20–40 minutes), and we will clearly explain our findings before we leave.
If you are a landlord or property manager, we’re happy to coordinate directly with tenants to make scheduling simple.
We understand that everyone has busy schedules. If you are unable to be present during the service, please contact us to discuss your situation. In certain cases, we may be able to accommodate alternative arrangements depending on access and safety requirements.
IS DRYER VENT CLEANING REALLY NECESSARY?
5
Yes, routine dryer vent cleaning is an important part of home maintenance.
Over time, lint naturally accumulates inside the vent system. Even if you clean the lint trap after every load, fine lint particles still pass through and collect in the ductwork. As buildup increases, airflow becomes restricted.
Restricted airflow can:
Increase drying time
Cause the dryer to overheat
Raise energy costs
Shorten the lifespan of the appliance
Increase the risk of a dryer fire
Professional cleaning helps restore proper airflow, improve efficiency, and reduce fire risk. For most homes, annual service is recommended to keep the system operating safely and efficiently.

CAN CLOGGED DRYER VENTS CAUSE FIRES?
8
Yes. Clogged dryer vents are a known fire hazard.
When lint accumulates inside the vent system, airflow becomes restricted. This causes heat to build up inside the dryer and ductwork. Lint is highly flammable, and when combined with excessive heat, it can ignite.
Restricted airflow can also cause the dryer to overwork and overheat, increasing strain on internal components.
Routine professional cleaning helps remove lint buildup, restore proper airflow, and significantly reduce fire risk. For most homes, annual maintenance is recommended to keep the system operating safely.
DO YOU CLEAN ROOF VENTS OR LONG VENT RUNS?
9
Yes, we are equipped to service most roof-vented systems and longer vent runs.
Dryer vents that terminate through the roof or run extended distances require specialized tools and a thorough approach to ensure proper airflow is restored safely.
Before beginning service, we evaluate the vent layout, length, and accessibility. In some cases, roof access or unusually long vent runs may require additional time or pricing adjustments.
If you’re unsure about your system’s configuration, feel free to contact us we’re happy to review it with you.
DO YOU OFFER INSPECTIONS OR REPAIRS?
10
Yes, we offer both professional dryer vent inspections and repair services.
In addition to full cleanings, we can evaluate your system for airflow restrictions, improper installation, damaged ductwork, or potential fire hazards.
If repairs are needed, such as replacing crushed or disconnected vent lines, upgrading unsafe materials, or installing a new exterior vent hood, we will clearly explain the issue and provide upfront pricing before any work begins.
Our goal is not just to clean your vent, but to ensure your entire system is operating safely and efficiently.
